all right, I can stop at that though my name is last time we spoke before summer break I spoke to you as my chair for the keyboard just to give you a bit of an update an interim chair for the board step down from his duties and I can start just give up. action about myself I've been with me for 7 years and Charla after neutering Taco Bell near me 7 years with those people are serving as Vice chairman on the professional side of things I work in stop engineering it domain I managed a team that varies in size I've been in management for the last 50 and 16 years my my passion the reason I enjoy volunteering for that evolve with my kids but two of them graduated high school now and the little one is just starting the main reason I tell Tasha not about the mission is is needed to bring the electronic indication to us off our children as possible and and make it quality content that is reasonably affordable as why does LOL family income in our community as though but that's that's my name with the vision and Michelle and I'm lucky to still have that with me and on the keyboard that is equally passionate about it's going to be in the project continue to grow and succeed with that with your support and Aunt Charla in terms of my goals as a as a chairman I definitely will be focusing on two things one is what we talked about before somebody around sending the school being able to take and more kids and and some of you might know this already last year we ended up with 150 kids and waiting list that we simply did not have space for them so that's one of our top priority and then of course it is being able to expand our grades to start offering High School address in Charlotte so that's that's my first priority the second priority for me and the board to descale our property you can imagine we like now have it on 300 kids if we let City want to reach a point where we have double that all the prophecies policies way that we managed development you know deliver any indication to our kid for updating and keeping our curriculum up-to-date year to year and divide them all these properties need to scale up so that's not a priority that I have and you know both of these things are a priority that one bit. Started partnership with the admin team with sharks we have that going for us I wanted to give you a breakdown of what we are thinking about as far as expansion strategy in Charlotte next meeting will cover some of the things that we are working on the development and enhancement but I wanted to cover that the expansion pack technically we've done a lot of work on it over the summer and will continue to do so at the high level three three phases if you would one like I said is being able to in the short-term so and Charla next year I will be able to accommodate more into our ride great but that's not the number one and then right after that is trying to start over in High School indication we don't have all the details for these two things but right now we can't imagine because of the time and being ready to Margaret by next year the energy and focus is really driving toward expanding our class result of all the kids that we had to be on the waiting list for next year in Charlotte and then the long-term objective is to have a facility that is state of being able to offer you know outdoor facilities for for the kids for the field and being able to have all the support. I would need for developing our children especially the high school kid once we start opening that door open all these things at Alta division as we drive forward and shave cream shop update we we started the expansion, station by meet then where the shooter we requested that the land that are owned by Android auto Alpine Road that we were interested and we requested that we we get the approval to perform due diligence do I set that property for the purpose building at school that they are we started that activity over the summer we did lots of good things that helped us can educate ourselves in terms of what we need for the product including a good design firm to partner with us on designing then you stay atop a line. to help out with questions like going in and City requirements and things like that so that was good progress unfortunately we we weren't able to continue it. and unless things happen I always believed Cory's until about a month ago or 3 weeks now maybe buyer came into the picture. Twisted intestine that land became not available not exactly Bellevue having vendors that we connect and we are trying to identify the next Garland soccer team narrowing down some some properties than we are in the process of getting them to see if they would fit you know Aztecs in terms of doing in terms of the layout you know what we need to have and for hugging a classroom and you know outside playground the whole lot of things that we need to make sure that means we can we can have before we commit for one of those options that they're looking at nothing without they got to wait then is financially will be able to actually afford it or not one of the things that I don't know how how much people know about I want ability to find anything this is a 3D up to the generosity of so we we are this year is our 30th anniversary 34 stylish in the school and we're going to focus our fundraising for the focus primarily function project taken additional deficit and come to value a property and only have to pay for so we accepted that the extra funds would be able to. I have no doubt the things that are happening Charlotte in the future meetings will will continue to provide more updates things developed on this side we also committed ourselves to a joint project with ir and to build a canopy in the surrounding ground so that would be a great addition to allow remote I'm outside and have the coverage to allow them to you know all day long project that we committed ourselves to our share of the project with the way. Etsy couple of more updates I want to touch them that there's lots of question around Page Road and what does it mean for our expansion strategy to as for those who are not familiar with it is a property that are on the end of the Brier Creek Parkway intersection with Pedro and so is that a knife I think 23 acre piece of land that is being developed there and the initial building that the established established 5500 square feet of space to to be used for the purpose of a school right now is that we have for window it will be done as a year from now so not quite going to line up with next year but also I wanted to make sure that people understand what did you mean because things get confused sometimes because of the piece of land is a huge but the actual initial a building is really big enough to take for maybe five cloth room so from an expansion tank point it doesn't really help us to to take around next job for maintaining communication and building in Stafford and be able to accommodate the back the waiting list. That's what I'm talking about 150 maybe more I just wanted to make sure that people are Stan what page was means and how it's progressing inshallah we'll complete it would be a great thing for the community to which is going to be the bigger portion of the project that isn't that specific timeline for that yet so it's not clear when we'll be able to expand Beyond podcast when I wanted to give people text because we get lots of questions about Pedro and why aren't you going to pay the Lord is going to solve lots of problems so I would have just meant it's not going to solve lots of problems at least in the short-term as we try to solve for the weekend in Charlotte in Newport Rhode Island and Faith to start coming up I believe that that would be a solid location for for the school to Consumer and shower like I said that the second goal of the Pickin pockets for the year which is around curriculum development and operations and policies will cover that in the future and Shala so those are the things that I wanted to touch you and the last thing I wanted to tell you no call to action we always we always in real need for everybody. I can't stress that enough as Muslim that people who come in with the intention of providing the best for our children and for the children of the Alabama Lane that we interact with I think the eyes the most powerful tool that we have and it's free so I want you to love me just as much as you can make it but all the kids and for all of us to leave some positive impact on the school and the community in Charlotte that we moved on from this project taking over Charla the other thing I think that people who are connected and dedicated to the school obviously you're taking from your long day to come and listen to me talk that shows appreciation that shows connection with with the mission with what we are trying to do I think using your your ability to influence your friend people in the community encourage them to you know get involved in cash them to donate I think I think you can be an extremely powerful agent for for us for our cause and for where we are trying to to go so I know lots of you probably are also the pts do you know that this is an expansion project that's going to be huge but also the benefits are in sha Allah would be huge and relax for generations to come and I think I think it said it's going to be I like your person who and contributing to their in anyway with a financially or otherwise so you know I get out there and I get share that. Mission that. Trying to drive with with your friend Michelle and family member of course. financially. I don't know what other resources that we we might end up needing as we start working on Trident find out property if you want to move out well I'm sure that some of the killed people in our community can I can help us you know Implement some of the changes we need and prepare the building for for our children so that's that's also another way that you can donate show and of course financially with your 15 whatever they may be those are important aspect of helping us in this project. I said she's not she's going to turn in almond butter masala. She just joined us over the summer she will be so I wanted to maybe some of the parents you already I know her. But she's going to be also helping out with the dog and some of the object and let me have here along with all that its board members from dr. Maybe we can take some some question but I sure do have one question about a scholarship Trent would like to know I'm in this probably would come from one of the admin that are on the call when are scholarships opening up for applications defile brother matter that I do believe that it's it open it opens until they reach their to pass and then they close it and then they'll open it again so that's that's for my knowledge but if I don't have on a call I think he would be able to better answer that yeah I would I would say if you if you have if you have if you feel question is trying to figure out whether it's too late to apply this year or not reach out to brother my head and he can he can help you with that the Sharla and other than that we have a parent that you know agrees up that's a good reminder to take us for high school because it's needed thing in our community and I can't believe that there's no questions we just you know you just shared a lot of information about the you know ASAP changes school expansion the canopy project a question which classes will be added to Page Road and when we have those details yet we don't care if we haven't made a decision to move into Pedro. I think we were focusing on solvent for the weight lift right now but we are continuing to engage with then find as the lead for the Patriot project to I am in constant communication with them just to understand what's the progress and how things going to evolve I bet they haven't made a decision to to go there. Because we don't believe it will solve for the top priority of addressing the waiting list for next year for clarification can we clarify this Fellowship that we were talking about for another parent I assure you that we have so I think it's been maybe 40 years now downtown by we established a scholarship and then called pick up soon as we open up application for Acuras for you know. and and the budget for it kind of depends we have certain funds allocated to that from our budget. it was $20,000 but we also we get additional funding from the car so. Montrose typically we renegotiate brother man go she ate with them in terms of how much they're able to help so we can go to store once we have the final number we would try to figure out how to spread it between all that picking and the cat is warming up we have a question about the playground is there any opportunity to have some enhancements to the playground this year or in the future I think first question is what can enhance men so I think it's always a conversation but if there is a more specifics we can get then we can look into that a map where the playground is a shared responsibility with between Austin and I are so depends on what kind of enhancements were looking for we can we can take that up with Auntie house barber shop going down the list lengthy waiting is a parent has a concern about the waiting list for 2023 24 school year yes we are equally concerned about it and that's why it's the top objective for a within the expansion strategy honestly nobody felt good about even when we had short waiting time we turn away a student nobody feels good about that but last year really drove it home because we got over me how many kids that we will not be able to bring Jen week we were able to add one more class in the second grade first grade and and Pre-K classroom to have to Aldi on the first floor and we just everybody and I are there no more room on the first level somewhere to to add capacity so that's the main focus for us don't want to go through that kind of experience and honesty Agony for me personally but I know that the admin team and the board members feel the same way we do want to go to the doctor that shot like a focus for us to try to solve for that for next year and there are some questions and the chat that are directly admin related question I would ask the sister on the sister Maria if you want to jump into the chat and answer a few of those questions there's some questions about the book fair about the girls not Middle School girls meeting recess and going Outdoors winter clothing that are that are allowed at the school so these are admin well directed type questions that if an admin can jumping in type in some questions the is a question about the 20 hours at parents volunteer now how does it work and when do they when will, can you share some more information about that did I can go ahead and chime in about the volunteer hours the volunteer hours are required by the hour 4-H family we will update families middle of the year and follow their progress and then we are putting the deadline as May 1st for you to go ahead and complete those hours you can also access your hours in school Pro under the volunteer tab to see how many you have completed this far I hope that answers your question there's one question I feel did you guys stay high school we don't have a timeline for it but I'm also driving this very aggressively my my board members can testify to the crazy times I think them with questions and other matter I keeping them on different things we need to do kind of make decision so my my might share responsibility for 3 years I am hoping that will we have the beginning of high school before I leave so like I said was focusing on the waiting list right now so I am not in a position to give you a Highline or anything like that but that's the main reason I I started by saying I only have two objectives and I don't want to get the energy all me as a volunteer the board member volunteer to be stuck into other thing and lose focus on on the important thing in the important thing for for us to expand being able to accommodate more students be able to Northern High School services in sha Allah so I can promise you that with focus on that and will keep a laser focus on that shot luck and will share we learn more as we dig our plant more Charlotte would be forthcoming without detail are there any other additional questions thank you Rana for jumping into the chat and answering the question about the middle school girls recess Jared as well as the book fair my brother weather can you give us some more concrete examples of what opportunities the school committee is pursuing for the expansion we're looking for several standing building so we realize that we cannot build something from scratch between now and next year so we're looking for standing buildings that would fit the switch off at school and be able to move into it how to add additional capacity right now any other questions what is the plan are we moving the whole whole school or is it expanding into a new area yes and yes we will will not believe in any option off the table I think it's it's going to depend on several things that you know how big the space we allocate how far it is from our current location financially whatever or didn't I get a whole lot of factors that go into the decision to figure out how to have more classrooms by next year the details of how we are being extremely flexible for sure whatever we doing it doesn't doesn't have any unnecessary burden on parents having having the school split between two. and then you have to drop one kid in one location then drive 10 minutes or 15 to drop them on the other side I think that is something that we we just don't see it as a practical Benjamin Port Allen and that makes our job in terms of finding a solution a little bit difficult but not impossible but that's like the only thing that are being strict about who don't want to do end up with bad experience for for the current results of our Spanish the point of having two students into different areas of a parent who asked a question about if a if a student element student has a younger sibling who are enrolled in La man yet will it be possible for them to be accepted for next year or will they most probably be weight listed and that is most likely a questions were admin and admin could you discuss real quickly the process for you know speaking about enrollment what can a parent do to reach out to you to talk about enrollment so for this upcoming school year in January when we until a plan to elope the Roman for our current even we are planning to also allow current parents to in on to register their children who are not who are not part of our school yet or to do that on the waitlist they will always be a priority so we do plan to have a window of time to try to fill in any Spa with our current siblings however the disc goes back to how much space we have but we do prioritize siblings they are on top of the waitlist so it's just a matter of if they're spaced or not but we will open that up before we open up for new registration in February to the public leppo Canton and the questions of Slowdown can I see it's Justin my voice or should I write it now go ahead and the I have them distance from another point to Buford about the teachers because the the the teachers for high school facing with biscuit at Chick-fil-A so if any opportunity to start a parent teacher from now how to deal with the kids if it was that website that you have differences Fortune they will need a specific to go psychological or just up to the clock at 5 I agree we already provide some of that can I prepare and kids for high school probably recover more on that as we cover our second priority for people. Kirkland & K Automotive Lenox meeting but soon again maybe I believe papaya she's on Muse I don't know if anybody else from the admin fee and Consignment but I know that we we do have activities around preparing the kids for entering high school and exiting 7th and 8th grade yeah and tell her we do plan to have an after-school mentorship the boys in the second half of the year that prepares them for high school and Charla for girls as well so we're still looking for the proper mentorship for that there is apparent concern there feeling like they're hearing that there's children teacher gifts and they that the other children in the class feel that that's the only way to get on a teacher's good side is there a, a quick you know, the we can in a provide the parents are as teachers and students I would really encourage this the parents who reached out directly to us with I'm more specific example because I do know that our teachers work really really hard so when they get you no gifts or treats from their students the hallway very well deserved for all the hardware they have done so I'm so that is something that I like as an admin I really appreciate cuz it shows like support and appreciation for all the teachers hard work however if a parent does feel like it is causing bias H A change in Behavior with the teacher toward the students I would like him to directly contact the administration because that is problematic but I do not have my knowledge that is that is not something I'm aware of where ever seen in my experience a demon do I call Karen and I can I can speak from personal experience I absolutely adore kid guess I still have all my cards stash in a box that my students gave me are there any final questions from the parents nothing else I appreciate all the questions I appreciate the participation and the telling of here you guys will continue to come and hear and interact with us in the top sequin meetings throughout the year.
