About Me

Assalamu Alaikum my name is Denise Sakr. I am a mother to two great kids and one who keeps me on my toes. The older two  have graduated from Al-Iman School. I have a Bachelor's Degree from East Carolina University and I have been teaching for 13 ½ years. Eight of those years were in public school, 1 ½ years in Egypt and this will be my fifth year at Al-Iman school.

My love for children is the reason why I got into teaching.  I  believe all students are individuals, and everyone learns in their own unique way. I use multiple methods of teaching to make sure everyone reaches their full potential.  I love sharing what I know both inside and outside the classroom. I feel the school garden is the best classroom. If you can’t find me I am probably there. Watching students connect with Allaha’s creations makes me smile. They don’t even realize that they are learning while they harvest vegetables, pick flowers, or play in the dirt.  They really love worms and Rolly Polys.

It takes all of us, principal, parents, and teachers  to educate “OUR” children. For that reason Al-Iman is my second family, and my classroom is my second home.
