About Me
Having been raised in a Muslim community, I was taught from an early age the importance of studying and practicing the Arabic language as a key to understanding the Qur’an. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah once said:
“The Arabic language is from the religion, and its knowledge is an obligation. For surely, the understanding of the Qur’an and the Sunnah is an obligation, and these two are not understood except with the understanding of the Arabic language. And whatever obligation is not fulfilled except by certain steps, then those steps themselves become obligatory to fulfill the initial obligation.”
These words left a lasting impression on me, reinforcing my lifelong commitment to the Arabic language, not merely as a means of communication, but as a vital connection to faith, worship, and understanding the Qur’an.
After completing my bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Literature with a minor in Linguistics at Mohamed Ben Abdullah University in Fes, Morocco, I moved to North Carolina with the goal of continuing my education and fulfilling my dream of becoming an Arabic teacher. My aspiration has always been to help others, especially our youth, recognize the immense value of learning Arabic in order to fully understand and appreciate the meaning of the Qur’an.
Alhamdulillah, Al-Iman School has provided me with the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for the past eight years. As I enter my ninth year as an Arabic and Qur’an teacher, I remain deeply committed to supporting our youth, not only in developing strong Arabic language skills, but also in understanding the language’s significance in performing acts of worship and attaining proficiency in the recitation of the Noble Qur’an.
Teaching Arabic is more than a profession for me, it is a calling and a trust. I am devoted to nurturing the next generation with the tools they need to connect meaningfully with their faith and heritage through the beauty and depth of the Arabic language.
