so once again I apologize for the technical issues tonight we did I got saying that we are going towards a zero tolerance for the devices we will go ahead and send out this policy through email and shall as well just so you can be aware it is in our it is in our updated hand that you will be receiving until at the open house in the first day of school and most importantly we will be going over this policy with our students but we need your support as well as for our families to go ahead and help out in this diarrhea with us and Shala next we do have bad behavior policies for our students in case since we're all marshmallow where all our kids are really great but there are time sometimes the choices they make you need some reminders to need some support and we do have a policy of a different levels when it comes Behavior I first level is if there are any issues that the teacher is experiencing and the classroom they will in third and fourth grade send an incident report home and if the 50 Behavior princess there will be a parent teacher conference to work in creating an action plan to ensure that there are some goals and strategies to help support to students to make better choices if if this level is something that we need to have more support and then we moved to level 2 if there are more infractions and so forth and within the level to policy just include some behaviors that might be aggressive towards others bullying Defiance as students could you show this was conduct might be asked to go home for the day or possible in or out-of-school suspension depending on the severity of the action and Willie plays placed on an action plan if the behaviors continue then we move on to a level 3 where we might have students to receive also have some spending suspension after 4 days and students again more gold the strategy will be developed with Jason with Judah and the family until we we we know our kids are all they're all great kids and they won't get that level but you have these place to just remind our kids and to let our families know that all actions have consequences and that's important to choose the correct behavior and various situations within the school setting so that policy was for third and fourth grade and then we have a policy update for our fifth through eighth graders and that will be all discuss next our policy hasn't changed much it's very similar to the third and fourth grade however with this one or 5th graders will also receive an incident reports Howard Middle School we do have the marriage based on different level of one behaviors with in the classroom which will be first assessed by the classroom is there any staff member that observed behavior that is made that is not a good choice if a student does received an incident report or a demerit the teacher will contact the parents to work with a child to make sure that the behavior doesn't ask. if we see repeats of behavior and that the students need a little bit more support than we'll have to move them on to level two violations consist of misconduct that's beyond our normal classroom management I need some strategies again Defiance bullying repetitive behaviors and so forth and this area are students will again work with are interventionists and assistant principal to develop an action plan if we do need move on to level 3 when level 1 and level 2 have not been that effective then we will look at seeing if there is more outside support that might be needed for the for the student this is an example of a demerit notice for our students in Middle School demerits are from middle school only and really quickly first demerit has a one-day of lunch detention and a phone call home to two days and a conference 3 in school suspension and notified obviously parents are in the loop throughout this process for could be probation are out of school and again parents are notified accumulating more than four will result in a level 240 in fraction as you guys as our families get ready for the first week of school we encourage you to stop establishing family routine arrive on time or earlier sister Rhonda did mention our tardy policy that created because it was really from feedback from our teachers and from some things that we had noticed all the policies that we create our policies that really think about and only create if we know that we are going to be able to wear my shampoo we are implementing them for the best of our students and their experience at our school so our tardy policy is one example so in the first week of school try to get into a routine to make sure you arrive on time until INR for 4th and 5th grade their communication tool will be ClassDojo as it has been our middle school students will have talking points and the teachers will be giving you all the information at the open house so encouraged you to join us in the open house carpool will be sending out a whole separate carpool email and she'll look very soon we have a video that was made by one of our families that really outlines how carpool goes but we do ask that in the first of at least two weeks to just give us some time to get settled in as we find out you know I get familiar with you and you get familiar with our processes to just give Grace to to us we work hard to really run for full really fast and efficiently and it does really smooth as we get used to it but in the beginning we asked you all be patient with and cello with one another we try not to inundate you with too many emails to send a weekly email on Friday just highlighting what's going on at school during the week and any upcoming events and so forth so that's something that you should get used to until every Friday to read that email but please read all other emails that might come especially in the beginning of the year because they were real make this process easier and if there's some things you're unclear about just ask cuz that is really the best way for you to get familiar and blessing any confusion and if there's any questions you have that already classroom teacher directly they are really great and they should be able to help you every step of the way our website also houses many of the things I just talked about all these all the information our website it's a great resource for you to check out to learn more about her school and if you have any questions to go ahead you can look there are of course you can ask us but all that is a lot of information that we went over today is on our school website we are hoping that's going to be a fabulous school year are we and the summer months it's only five people and between I'm in I'm in the building and we're very quiet much all of the teachers have been back this week and you know we're getting the buzz back the excitement but we know that really happens with our kids and we're really excited to get the kids back we make through all the Alice finds out that blesses us with a beneficial and a fruitful and joyous school year or we are able to work together for the best for our children and our students and that in we work together and in sha Allah have a the courage to ask something if they have anything I do want to just to reiterate cuz I feel like some kind of law like the biggest on policy change that we made for our school was a cellphone one and that was when it got cut off but so parents I know that a lot of our students do have cell phones you have watches likes my device watches being a kid it's really it's it's really it's hard to keep a not check your phone your watch so even if you do decide to choose to send your child with their electron L you know what the device with her cell phone and tell him to keep it in their bag in the case they decide to put it in your pocket or it comes out at time of the day that is that is an infraction and so we truly believe that students do not need to have a cell phone with them at school they are safe there always supervised if they ever need anything they're welcome to go to the front office and call you at anytime they do need anything you're welcome to call the school and we can relay a message to your child if need be but during the school hours we're very confident that a child not need a cell phone so so we do plan to really prioritize this this year so yeah I just felt like we weren't able to give it its. It's all times because of how we got cut off and cut me Scott so yeah so if there's any questions about that please feel free to ask and also in the classroom we know that our students go ahead and they do we do have Chromebooks so but we we know technology is important also in the educational system so we do have the Chromebook so that was that's what our kids would use if they need any any enough to do to do some research and so forth great presentation we have all those Avenues there for them we are one to one school which means everybody to sign the Chromebook at the beginning of the year so we still do have that we're not you know we're very aware that our kids need to be text Abby but we did once again we do want to reiterate that although there are advantages the disadvantage what in the classroom setting as well as the classroom culture is not worth putting out that door so this is why we are on also put things to the Sarah cell phone policy this year again like I said we got cut off but we did a lot of research looking a lot of schools talked to a lot of people when we were going through this process a parent is asking around and maybe we can go back to the conference has a slide for cell phones to asking about what are the consequences and no problem if you missed it was there since 10:00 shopping so we'll be more than happy to go through it again first infraction of this includes in the pockets and all these things we just don't want to sell phones at school it will be taken by a staff member required required to conference with the parents with Administration and that's the only way the child would get their cell phone back if you can't come to school to pick it up the cell phone with stay at school but we are requiring that you come to school and have a conversation second day is O as a suspension a second infraction suspension third day is a three-day suspension and 1/4 in fraction is disciplinary action resulting in possible expulsion and this also pertains to if they come to school wearing a watch that is a smartwatch yeah this presentation will be this recording at I have to be in two parts because of the way this evening has done but we will go ahead and upload it so both parts will be there so you will be able to access the presentation of Cholla we have a question was going to go to the chat School logo multicolored option on their website please of shirt and it will be. to you with the wood with the School logo on it so so I'm not sure what what you're saying on your end but but we but we have ironed out those details that you should be able to but you're welcome to reach out to me directly if you can email me at BP Aleman Crescent. Org if you would like to listen to that I'm not sure who but iPhone is but I'll bring back flip phones is very cute I know I'm aging myself but my first cell phone after I graduated college was a flip phone I know I'm aging myself and their kids most of my day yes it's cool because we updated the school about website in June they haven't uploaded it on there say but but I have been speaking to them extensively and the shirt will arrive with the School logo in the middle it's actually a really great shirt on I'm kind of excited to see all the kids wearing the uniform shirt I think and we do encourage the middle school girls to the middle school boys if they want because we do want to maintain them the modesty to buy a size up or two as we know those contracts they do tree we are going to be requiring that like the shirts for the females cover cover their hip so it's long enough this is also something that we will be talking to the girl that I did speak to the girls about it before school and I kind of just give them like a heads up hey your parents going to be ordering the gym shirts make sure you size up a couple of sizes like it's better that it's like looser than it is tighter because if a student doesn't adhere to the to the shirt being loose then they won't be allowed to wear the gym uniform during PE days and we really want this to be like look for them because it's more comfortable and sporty and just you know not the dumper so until we can all just in here to those guidelines those shirts are just for their not for 9 p.m. I know it's you might wanted to be but we're going to just keep it only for yes the regular shirts yeah we really wanted to see that have the kids know that this is like something like would like we've been hearing their concerns and so you know what the do you know about the kosher to the jumpers not being comfortable for PE so we're trying to accommodate as best as we can but we do ask that on non non  days they do wear their uniforms cuz we don't want to take that privilege away from a student because they're not as Sherry should I should I process are there any other questions and feel free to unmute yourself and ask if it's easier for you than the chat so they will know they'll just come to school with a PE clothes on we don't have no locker rooms and all that until one day so then just come into school with the PE shirt for our middle school students only yes there is a grace period of around a month so we know that this is new and so we are we are transitioning into this so we really don't expect everyone to be in in the PE uniform the first week or two of school so so yes we know and this is why we wanted to do this. Or orientation in order to really highlight those new big changes so yes there is a Grace. For for the uniform yes so I'm for the PE uniform is the is the PE shirt and sweatpants Only You Can Be joggers that can be leggings that can be yoga pants it can't be it has to be the sweatpants and the reason we chose the sweatpants is because it's the most modest of all the athletic yes think it's terrible yes you are the pipe shirt the whole entire day so they come to school wearing their PE Uniforms on PE days and they are getting their schedule on the first day of school so everyone is informal you formal call at formal uniform and then there's a PE uniform their formal uniform on the first day of school They will receive their schedule and for those that have their PE uniform they can start wearing it on the first day of that they are scheduled to have PE you didn't come to school wearing it go home wearing it and then and then where that are other uniform the following day cuz they don't usually have PT in two consecutive days my understanding but just check the schedule the schedule will be very clear and your kids that will be a much older they will know exactly when they have PE because that's one of their favorite times of the school day everything that we have pretty much there today is on the website except for the policy handbook that will be emailed to all our families either end of this week or early next week so in Charlotte but all the information about uniforms but carpool about supplies all that information for Student Life you'll find a lot of Information Act install Aloha as you mentioned Monday is our open house so I we will so if you know ask listening to weed through a lot of information at you and you have even more questions please feel free to email us even throughout the school year it is it a email is the best way to get in contact with either of us.
