Islamic Studies 7B-2020-21 Assignments

During our hybrid schedule students will be required to maintain student planners. A student planner is a planner given to students in order to create organization and better communication. With these planners being a part of the classroom experience, students are more likely to keep track of their assignments, set personal goals, and enhance communication between teachers, students and parents.

• As Islam spread in Mecca, the ruling tribes began to oppose Muhammad’s preaching and his condemnation of idolatry.
• The Quraysh tribe controlled the Kaaba and drew their religious and political power from its polytheistic shrines, so they began to persecute the Muslims and many of Muhammad’s followers became martyrs.
• When Muhammad’s wife Khadijah and uncle Abu Talib both died in 619 CE, Abu Lahab assumed leadership of the Banu Hashim clan and withdrew the clan’s protection from Muhammad.
• In 622 CE, Muhammad and his followers migrated to Yathrib in the Hijra to escape persecution, renaming the city Medina in honor of the prophet.

IS Diagnostic Test Part I

A diagnostic test is a procedure to identify individual student specific areas of weakness and strength in order determine if IS curriculum is being understood or needs to be modified. IS diagnostic test is not incorporated into students yearly academic performance rather it is simply used to evaluate the learning process.

Diagnostic test will be administered beginning of year (BOY), middle of year (MOY) and end of year (EOY). Individual and class score will be analyzed to assess curriculum in order to strengthen learning outcomes.

Instructions: Open the attached video in this unit and select two presentations to view and grade. After viewing the slides and listening to the presentations identify two things that you liked about the presentation and two things that need to be improved.

Write the title of the presentation and the student of students that gave the oral presentation. Students will not be allowed to know who critiqued their slides and presentation - the grades are for my eyes only!
